About the APC
The Australasian Pancreatic Club (APC) was
established in 2002 to provide a forum for clinicians and
scientists with an interest in clinical and basic research
into diseases of the exocrine pancreas. Current members
of the APC include eminent gastroenterologists, surgeons
and researchers from
Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Japan, India, USA and UK. The annual meetings of
the APC allow a unique opportunity for pancreatologists to
discuss current and future research directions in pancreatic
pathobiology and to initiate collaborations with research
groups in the region.
The APC is a non-profit making organisation with the following aims:
- To promote communication between basic and clinical scientists
interested in the pancreas and its disorders.
- To promote and organise an annual scientific meeting
devoted to all aspects of the pancreas.
- To promote scientific, epidemiological and clinical research
into pancreatic function and into the prevention, diagnosis
and therapy of pancreatic diseases.
- To establish scholarships and promote postgraduate education
and training.
- To support other meetings concerning the pancreas organised
by members of the APC.
- To disseminate information about APC activities, and
publish such educational matter as the APC Council may
consider desirable.
